GE Renewables requires TPG accreditation from its global supply chain

GE Renewable Energy will now require TPG accreditation for steel manufacturing, heat treating and nondestructive testing for a designated list of critical parts used to make Wind Turbines - this will be a phased in approach over the next 1 - 2 years.  GE Renewable Energy (GERE) is committed to continual quality improvement and delivering products with zero defects to their customers.  This will be viewed as a partnership between GERE and their Suppliers.  The TPG program also accredits manufacturers for castings, elastomer seals, electronics, surface enhancement and welding. TPG audits are a rigorous technical assessment of compliance to customer requirements and industry standards, conducted by industry experts. Modelled on the Nadcap program, the TPG audit and accreditation process has been designed to benefit from industry input at critical points, while minimizing customer workload where possible. Ultimately, industry representatives make all the key decisions regarding which processes require audits and which Suppliers receive TPG accreditation. TPG accreditation raises the company profile within the industry, reduces the likelihood and cost of redundant audits by several OEMs and promotes a culture of compliance and lean manufacturing.
